This is a fun excursion, which combines cave rafting on giant inflated
tubes and walking and climbing through the dry sections of Tumutuma
Cave. This spectacular cave is lit by a myriad glowworms and is renowned
for its massive stalactites and rock sculptures. So long as you are
reasonable mobile, this is a fantastic soft adventure rating 4/10 on
the cavers Rambo scale. You will need swimwear, a towel and socks.
Special
conditions: Suitable for any reasonably fit person 12 and
over. Participants must weight at least 40 kilograms.

faint hearted or the unfit. You will rope your way down three waterfalls
in this magnificent cave complex.

Ratings a mere 5/10 on the cavers Rambo scale, this is a surprisingly
gentle 15 minute abseil into the Lost World cave and a reasonable walk
and climb back to the surface through massive vaulted caves.

and all equipment.
Description:
The age and weight record for this trip is held by a 71 year
old man who weighed 180 kilograms. You will slowly descend 100 metres
down a massive shaft from the surface over a leisurely 15 minutes. The
slow, gradual walk back to the surface takes you through massive and
spectacular vaulted caves.

conditions: You should wear loose, comfortable outdoor clothing
NOT jeans.

Highlights:
This is an excursion for the fit 'with attitude' rating 8/10
on the cavers Rambo scale. After you abseil 100 metres into the Lost
World cave, the most dramatic of its kind in the world, in 10 to 15
minutes, enjoy an early lunch. Then walk, swim and climb back to the
surface the long way.
Inclusions:
Trained guides, cavers helmet with light, boots. Full abseiling
instruction and all equipment. Lunch and dinner included.
Description:
You will descend 100 metres down a massive shaft from the surface into
the Lost World cave over 10 to 15 minutes. Enjoy a leisurely lunch before
the long haul back to the surface walking, swimming and climbing through
spectacular, cathedral size vaulted caves. You will see oyster fossils,
ancient whalebones, underground waterfalls and lots of glowworms. Dinner
at Waitomo is included.
Special
conditions: Participants should be fit, agile and good swimmers.
