Challenge monohull yachts weighing 19 tonnes with 6 tonnes of lead in
the keel. They are very stable and specifically designed to stay upright
even in very strong winds. With a maximum sightseeing capacity of 21,
Challenger and Courageous seat 19 in restaurant comfort below deck,
Defender and Defiance 21.
All sailings
are a great way to see Auckland from a very different perspective from
the water and make is easy to understand why more Auckland people own
sailboats and yachts than any other community in the world.
Waterproof
and windproof jackets on all cruises if required. Expert commentary.
Picnic or cooked lunches on Sailing the New Zealand Way luncheon cruise.
Tea or coffee and a fresh muffin on the Sailors Delight coffee cruise.
Four course fixed menu seafood dinner on Dining Afloat cruises (alternatives
available with prior notice). All vessels have bar facilities.
Pride
of Auckland sailing excursions combine the pleasure of a true sailing
experience with comfort and safety. Its craft are built for maximum
stability, so much so the company says no passenger has ever suffered
from seasickness.
By day or
night, you will enjoy the beauty of Waitemata Harbour and take a turn
at the helm. If you choose the dinner cruise, you will be served dinner
while the yacht is at anchor.
The
company also operates Pride of Auckland, a 60 foot cruising catamaran
which is available for charter with full catering and bar facilities.
