This refurbishment program is scheduled to run through to late January 2007, at which time we expect to have refurbished all 104 rooms in the Main and Tower Wings of the hotel. Our lobby and Carlton Restaurant will also receive a face-lift. Southern Cross Hotel is a modern 4 star Dunedin hotel in the centre of the city with a proud heritage going back to 1883 when the original Grand Hotel on the site was regarded as one of the country's finest. The hotel has been completely rebuilt and extended, but much of the original ornate architecture has been incorporated in its banqueting and conference rooms.
