Huka Lodge is located just 300 metres up stream from the famous Huka Falls. It started as a simple fishing lodge on the banks of the Waikato River some 60 years ago, attracting anglers from around the world. Today, the now-luxurious lodge lures anyone seeking one of the world's very best retreats.

The main Lodge has an understated elegance and is a welcoming haven where, in the evening, guests gather in front of the blazing log fires with a drink or two and share stories of the day. The rich warm floors and antique country furniture and complemented by woven wool fabrics and carpets designed to reflect the richness of Huka Lodge's surroundings. The intense deep greens and blues echo the river and forest and touches of red mirror southern sunsets.

The area is a trout angling paradise and Huka Lodge offers a complete range of guided fishing excursions from wilderness fly-fishing by helicopter and four-wheel drive to boat fishing. Hunting, horse riding, golf and a huge choice of water based activities are also available.

Situated in seven hectares of park-like grounds Huka Lodge has only 20 Executive Rooms, and 4 guest Suites, all set just 20 metres from the river, amongst magnificent towering trees.

The Executive Rooms feature a verandah with outdoor furniture and beautiful river views. Each large room comprises of a King size bed, walk-in wardrobe, 2 lounge chairs, tea/coffee making facilities, ironing equipment and mini bar. The luxury bathroom features under-floor heating, glass ceiling and a sunken bath, which is complemented by a separate shower, double hand basins, bathrobes and hairdryer.

The Suites are very secluded and offer the same inclusions as the Executive Suites, but also feature a separate living area. The suites are spacious, light and very peaceful with slatted wooden outdoor terraces, boasting river views.

Both rooms include fresh flowers and a daily newspaper, and can also include on request, a television, video, radio, alarm clock, direct dial telephone and spa towels.

Wherever you choose to dine, by the outdoor fireplace, on the terrace, or at a private table under the stars you find unique food, an extensive wine selection and impeccable service. They are happy to go to any lengths to provide an appropriate and memorable setting.
Their dining room is spacious in its proportions and elegant in design. A place where guests come together for good food and fine wine punctuated with easy laughter and conversation.
